The ICAT Certificate III Remote Pilot programme is available in different formats including:

  • Online + Workshop CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL)

This course is open to both domestic and international students with no industry experience.

Advances in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies are being made at an unprecedented rate. As capability continues to grow, many new commercial applications are created for drone piloting. Drone pilots may expect to undertake activities such as filming mining and geo surveying, inspecting infrastructure and equipment, agricultural monitoring, documenting events and sports, covering news or carrying out search and rescue or security operations.

 

Based out of Archerfield Airport (Brisbane, Australia), the ICAT’s Flight School is operated to Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) standards by experienced professional, CASA licenced flight instructors and personnel. The ICAT Remote Pilot programme is available in a range of part and full time study streams with different entry criteria, expectations and outcomes: In addition, the programme is regularly run as a short intensive online course with or without the licence outcome. Our programme is run by professional full time senior flight instructor with extensive experience in both theory and practical aspects of aviation training and flight operations.

 

Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) is a formal qualification that provides comprehensive aviation training in relation to UAV operations. The Certificate III can be undertaken with or without the CASA Remote Pilot Licence outcome.

CASA Remote Pilot Licence Course

The ICAT Remote Pilot (Licence Stream) course comprehensively addresses aeronautical knowledge, CASA regulations and law in the context of professional licenced drone operations. The programme also includes rigorous remote flight training and assessments required to achieve the CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) outcome. Assessments are carried out in conjunction with our CASA certified training partner, Autonomous Technology – CASA ReOC 0021.

 

Non-Accredited Remote Pilot Training

For students not immediately seeking a Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) nor a formal qualification, we offer a range of short introductory workshops, lessons and tutorials. Please enquire for details.

Academic Criteria

  • Australian or Australian-equivalent senior high school certificate with average or above results.
  • Maths and Physics preferred

English Language Criteria

Age Requirement

To apply for and hold the Remote Pilot Licence, the applicant must be at least 17 years old.

4. DO YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT FUNDING?

If you are applying for a student visa, you will need to demonstrate that you have plenty of money to afford the course and the cost of living.
