Overview

ICAT’s Certificate III in Aviation – Cabin Crew programme is a nationally recognised qualification designed for working cabin crew, airline cadetships and individuals wishing to prepare for the competitive career of airline cabin crewing.

The programme is conducted via face to face classroom learning by experienced aviation trainers and supported by operational cabin crew trainers and staff utilising authentic training equipment to supplement theory training where relevant.

This course is open to both domestic and international students with no industry experience.

Professional Stream – Online Theory Only

Current and former cabin crew personnel who have undertaken airline cabin crew training may be eligible to join the Professional Stream. This stream delivers the learning material online with instructor support and practical training requirements are met via Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL). RPL is validated through a journal style form that must be signed off by the employer. Eligible candidates can therefore achieve the Certificate III in Aviation at substantially lower cost and in a shorter time frame and receive academic credit toward the Diploma of Aviation Management.

If you have been recruited or trained by an Airline, please contact us to discuss your potential to receive RPL. International cabin crew are eligible to apply for this qualification.

Details

ICAT’s Cabin Crew programme offers genuinely industry driven, traditional integrated theory and practical training to ensure that students are job ready. Our programmes have been developed by and in consultation with working cabin crew, airline consultants and other industry contributors.

Working as a Cabin Crew can be an exciting and interesting career with opportunities to work as part of a dynamic team and travel extensively. However, Cabin Crew don’t just look terrific and provide friendly service. There is a serious side to the role that involves responding professionally to a complex and potentially hazardous work environment and dealing with multiple challenging situations and circumstances. Cabin crew must also be aware of and apply relevant civil and aviation legislation, rules and regulations as well as understand safety, security and workplace procedures.

Cabin Crew training is conducted at our Business Technology Park Campus, our Archerfield Airport workshop, and other locations relating to emergency services. Our campus is equipped with airline and aircraft training aids.
